What are you looking for?

Finished pieces, custom refinishing, and sourced vintage projects have different next steps. Pick the closest path and we’ll route from there.

Buy finished pieces

Get first notice when finished pieces are released locally, including dimensions, condition notes, price, and pickup details.

Refinish my piece

Send photos, rough dimensions, condition notes, timeline, and location. We’ll tell you whether the piece is a good candidate before pricing.

Source a piece

Tell us the room, size range, category, budget, and finish direction. If the search is realistic, we’ll scope sourcing and refinishing together.

Collected, polished, one of one

Good vintage should still feel like itself.

We look for proportion, solid construction, original detail, and room-ready scale — then update the finish only as much as the piece needs.

Selected work

A few current examples of Studio Alder’s finish language: deep color, retained detail, disclosed condition, and pieces scaled for real rooms.

Services

Finished pieces, refinishing, and sourced vintage — without a hard sell.

Start with the closest option. We’ll review the piece, room, timeline, and logistics before recommending a next step.

Start a request

Finished pieces

One-of-one vintage pieces, refinished and released locally.

Best for buyers who want character, solid construction, and a finished piece without managing a custom refinishing project.

First step

Join the list for finished-piece release notes and Marketplace-linked drops.

Custom refinishing

A new finish for furniture with good bones.

Best for solid vintage or antique pieces with strong proportions, working structure, and a finish that no longer suits the room.

First step

Send photos, dimensions, condition notes, timing, location, and the finish direction you have in mind.

Sourcing + refinishing

A found piece, finished for your space.

Best for designers, stagers, and homeowners who know the category and scale they need, and want vintage character instead of new retail. Sourcing is scoped only when budget, timing, and availability line up.

First step

Share room context, target dimensions, category, budget range, timing, and delivery constraints.

Before + after

Before and after, without erasing the piece.

The best projects preserve the line, scale, and useful original detail while correcting the parts that make a piece feel tired: finish color, surface wear, drawer edges, and hardware condition.

Before

Original shape and useful detail intact, with a dated finish and visible surface wear.

After

A calmer finish, cleaner edges, and hardware brought back into proportion with the piece.

Materials + finish notes

What we disclose before you commit.

Every release or estimate should make the basics visible: dimensions, condition, finish direction, hardware decisions, and pickup or delivery expectations.

  • Dimensions and condition disclosed before purchase or quote
  • Original hardware retained where it strengthens the piece
  • Finish direction chosen around the room, light, scale, and existing materials — not just a trend color
  • Pickup and delivery coordination discussed before commitment

How it works

How a refinishing request works.

01

Send the brief

Share photos, dimensions, location, timeline, and what you want the piece or room to feel like.

02

Photo + construction review

We review photos, approximate dimensions, materials, condition, timing, access, and whether refinishing is the right path.

03

Direction + estimate

If it is a fit, we align on finish direction, pickup or delivery needs, timing, and an estimate before work is scheduled.

04

Refinish + final coordination

The work focuses on durability, preserved character, clean details, and a finish that belongs in the room. Pickup or delivery is coordinated before completion.

Designers + stagers

Vintage pieces with the details clients ask for.

For designers and stagers who need distinctive vintage accents, pairs, nightstands, dressers, consoles, or case goods with clear dimensions, condition notes, finish direction, and pickup/delivery expectations before client presentation.

Request a fit review

Have a piece you want refinished?

Send photos, dimensions, condition notes, finish direction, timing, and location. We’ll review whether the piece is a good candidate before sending an estimate.

Helpful before you submit:

  • Front, side, top, and close-up photos
  • Approximate dimensions and material if known
  • Damage, drawer, hardware, or veneer concerns
  • Desired finish direction, timeline, city, and pickup/delivery constraints
  • For sourcing requests: target dimensions, category, budget range, and deadline
Project basics

The more specific you are, the faster we can confirm whether the piece, timing, and finish direction are realistic.

Project type Required

Photos are the fastest way to confirm whether a piece is a good refinishing candidate.

We review fit before quoting. Not every piece is a good candidate. If you do not have photo links, submit the form and email photos to hello@studioalder.co afterward.

FAQ

Clear expectations before the work begins.

Do you sell directly through the site?

Not yet. Finished pieces are released through Facebook Marketplace and the Studio Alder list while online checkout is being built. Use this site to verify the studio, join future releases, or request refinishing and sourcing.

How do I buy a piece I saw on Marketplace?

Use the Marketplace listing for the active purchase conversation. This site confirms who we are, where we work, how to contact us, and how to hear about future releases.

What pieces are a good fit for custom refinishing?

Solid vintage or antique dressers, nightstands, tables, cabinets, consoles, and accent pieces with good proportions and stable construction are strongest. Pieces with severe veneer failure, structural damage, water damage, or particleboard construction may not be a fit.

Can you source a piece for me?

Yes, selectively. Send the room, category, size range, budget range, timing, and finish direction. We’ll only scope sourcing if the search is realistic.

Do you offer pickup or delivery?

Often, yes. Pickup and delivery are discussed during quoting and depend on location, piece size, access, schedule, and route availability across Longmont, Boulder County, and nearby Front Range communities.
